Dell is an American computer hardware company whose base camp is in Houston, Texas. Dell develops, manufactures, supports and sells Laptops, PCs, servers, data storage devices, PDAs, computer peripherals and many other products.

Dell is in this business for more than two centuries and it has more than 50,000 employees worldwide. Dell ranks as the 25th largest company in USA by revenue, according to a survey report made by Fortune 500 2006.

Dell has manufactured several models of laptops / notebooks, each having unique design and characteristics. Inspiron 1501 is the latest laptop released in 2006 by Dell and its design is similar to the Inspiron E1505/6400 except that it has no multimedia buttons in the front side. It weighs 6.19 lbs with 6-cell battery. Dell has minimized the gap between your media and your finger tips. Now you can access your presentations, calendars and contacts more easily. Blu-ray technology has been introduced by Dell in its laptop line. Dell has given next-generation optical disc format as an option in its XPSTM M1710 notebooks. This feature basically provides read / write capabilities across CD, DVD and Blu-ray disc media.

Dell XPS M1710 also provides up to 7.1 channels of uncompressed surround sound. Besides there are options for up to 32 audio streams for cinematic sound is also available. All this comes with Intel Core 2 Duo T7600 and Intel Core 2 DuoT7600G processors. Not to forget Nvidia GeForce Go 7950 GTX graphics processing unit with 512 MB of virtual RAM, 4GB of 667 MHz DDR2 memory, a serial ATA hard disk drive.
